Sweazey, <br> Collegiate Institute, <br> Salt Lake City, Utah. <br><br> My dear Mr. Sweazey:- <br><br> Your letter of 7th inst. received. I sympathize with you in your desire to be nearer to you work. From my personal knowledge of the situation, I should think it would be very difficult to secure proper accommodations at reasonable rates anywhere near the Collegiate Institute. I wish you could secure the Octagon. I suppose, however, that is occupied by Mr. Caskey. <br><br> Now as to Mr. Anderson, I can only say that I am very sorry to learn of his intention to withdraw at the close of the school year. I was in hopes that he would be content to remain where he is. True, as you say, we can only pay missionary salaries, but I sometimes think that we are losing far more than we gain by not paying larger salaries, though our work, so far, has been wonderfully blessed. You are at liberty to secure a successor at the same rate of salary, but, of course, we cannot promise any advance. Mr. Anderson's predecessor received $800, but it was more than the Woman's Board felt warranted in paying later on. <br><br> I have a letter from Miss Mabelle L. Morgan, written from Rome, Italy, saying she would like to get into college work. I wish she could go back to your place.
