Ponderosa pine, aspen, service berry, snowberry, sagebrush, mountain mahogany, fescue, blue- grasses, wheat and oak grasses. Critical deer winter range. Important elk, antelope and sage grouse habitat. Also includes rabbits, coyote, bobcat, badgers, gambel quail, chukkars, certain songbirds, pinion jay, horned lark and sage sparrow. Important habitat for antelope, sage grouse, jackrabbit, and other rodents. Birds include horned lark and shrike. A small buffalo herd winters in the grasslands of the Burr Desert. Critical deer winter range and sometimes elk. Supports rabbits, coyote, bobcat, badgers, gambel quail. Provides habitat similar to pinion- juniper type. Also supports mountain lion, bear, beaver. Key elk habitat. Also supports deer in summer, bear, snowshoe hare, squirrels, chipmunks, and marmots. Game birds include wild turkey. Numerous smaller birds nest and feed here. Spring- fall grazing for tattle and sheep. Winter range for deer. Irrigated agriculture. Winter grazing for sheep and cattle. Good winter grazing for cattle, commonly grazed yearlong.
