Scott, James R., M.D. (2015)

Dr Scott was born in Mediapolis, Iowa in 1937. Dr Scott received both his B.A. and M.D. from the University of Iowa. Dr Scott completed his internship at the San Bernadino County Hospital (1962-1963) and his Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City (1969-1972). Dr Scott was a Fellow in Reproductive Immunology at the University of Texas. Dr Scott returned to the University of Iowa as a member of the faculty in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr Scott came to the University in 1977 as Chief of Obstetric and Gynecological Service. Dr Scott was Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology from 1977-1995. In 2000, Dr Scott received the Distinguished Scientist Award from the Society of Gynecologic Investigation. Dr Scott remains on the School of Medicine faculty as Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
