Show Washington, D. C, April 19, 1880. Sir: Herewith I have the honor to transmit a report of explorations and studies in Utah Territory prosecuted during the years 1875, 1876, and 1877, in connection with the survey of Maj. J. W. Powell, under the Interior Department. This report is made in conformity with Special Orders of the War Department No. 90, May 13, 1875 ; No. 134, July 3,1876 ; No. 89, April 26, 1877, which require that the report be made to the Secretary of War. I respectfully request that the report may be forwarded to the honorable the Secretary of the Interior, with a view to its publication in connection with the survey work of Major Powell.
