I havs been out of the country for more then six months on s book buying assignment for my Center. You will be plessed to know thst I hsvs brought back with md just over ten tons of Arsbic books including more then ten thousand titles, many out-of-print for decades. This is more thsn whst I found in the Union Catalog cards preserved in the Librery of Congress which I saw only recently. I trust thst these notes will provide you with my feel­ing sbout books and microfilms. For daily use I prefer the former, and for occasional research I do not mind the latter. If, however, you feel thst our holdings will be of service to you in the project under considsrstion, we shall be very hsppy to co-operate with you. I must, however, wsrn you that our books ars still incsrcersted in the boxes and thst the cats-loguing cannot begin until we hsve s new building--shortly, I hope.
