Atiya University of Michigan Department of Near Eastern Studies Ann Arbor, Michigan Dear Dr. Atiya: We are most happy to have a favorable response to our invitation, and we hope we may look forward to your coming. In examining our calendar, we wanted to ask if May 9 and 10 would be favorable. If this were possible, the schedule would be as follows: you would speak in Chapel at 11:50, May 9 and 10, the time for the message being twenty-five minutes; then we would have time for an informal gathering of a large group of students at 1:20 P.M. for about thirty-five minutes so that they could ask questions or you could further develop in an informal fashion. I think the Church Music class would be very glad to have you speak on our ancient church music with a demonstration fromjour Divine Liturgy, and I am sure the Church History class would be very happy to have you share with them. In regard to an honorarium, we could allow seventy-five dollars plus transportation and expenses while here. OLS/sm |
