Description |
The purpose of this qualitative data research project was to determine what adolescence learn about themselves through the ongoing practice of self-reflective journaling. The data for this research was collected in a private 8th grade classroom in the intermountain west. I used recruitment methods to get student volunteers for this research. The data collection methods included student journal entries and recorded interviews. Upon analyzing the data collected, findings demonstrated that my adolescent students learned greater critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, self-efficacy, goal setting, goal revision and goal accomplishment skills. They also developed a greater sense of interconnectedness with others to aid in fostering meaningful relationships with others. |
