"\ '*'• V Sir;-A'/ •••••• 'V 7--/' I hare the honor to inform you that at a Council of'the'Uintah and White Hirer Indians of this Beserration, held si by me on Horember 26th, 1910,- at this Agency, the Indians brought up the question-of their-annuity money derired from interest on the Ute four per cent, fund,: which you hare informed this Office would not be paid this year, owing to the fact that the Court of Claims had-rendered Judgment in•the case of the Confederated Bands of Utes versus the United States, No. 30360, and which the-Comptroller of the'Treasury has decided is final judgment, thus annulling the ' interest' formerly derired from the $1,250,000.00. Ky predecessor. Captain C. G. Hall, Fifth U. S. Caralry, under'date of' December 3d, 1910, my file Ho. 2468, wrote your Office describing the condition of the Indians on this Beserration, and the probable suffering that will ensue due to the loss by the Indians of their annuity mcqiey for this year. As yet no reply has been receired to this letter from your Office, and I desire to again call your attention to the matter. |
