In numerous cases last year, it proved far less expensive to insure the ski school in the PSIA Plan. This is done by endorsing the ski area's policy to exclude coverage for the ski school instruction program and then writing the ski school in the PSIA Plan. In this way, there is no duplication of coverage or premium cost. Should you have any questions on this, just contact the PSIA insurance processing office. Wording of the Insuring Agreement of the PSIA Plan: Director: "The Company will pay on behalf of the insured all sums which the insured shall become legally obligated to pay on damages because of Bodily Injury to which this insurance applies caused by an occurrence and arising out of the acts or omissions of the insured in connection with the profession of Ski Instruction." It stm/lgly believes ilt thc sujleriority of its Icaching systC/ll, called Natlll" TeI",il,. origill(/ted ill the liltl' forties {;,' Walter Foeger. ___ IF""" Natur Teknik is a teaching system. ',ot J skiing technique, and is based on the natural position of the shoulders and body. It is called the direct teaching ;q)proach, using in all its steps the natural action and reactioll of the hum:1n body to its utmost advantage. This is parallel skiing from the beginning. On the surbce, the most st:utling and only re~'(1gnizable difference to other systems is the elimination of the snowplow ;1Ild stem in the teaching approach. N atur Teknik has been taught in the United 'ltates since 1956. Itw;1s a pioneer in modern ski teaching.' Other ski organizations have only recently revised their teaching ap'proaches and are now describing the upper level of skiing in the same way we have for many years. During the lessons, the hundreds of different exercises are divided into eight levels: . 1st - basic. 2nd - skatin~. 3 rd - tra vers·e. 4th "- prepar;ltioll for the turn tp till' Illountain, 5 th - sidesliding. 6th - turn to the mountain. 7th - preparation for the turn downhill. 8th - turn downhill. The Narur Teknik teaching system has gained the respect and admiration of thousands of emhusiastic skiers in the United States and Canada. Most of the sound scientific principles of this teaching system, originated and advocated for years by Walter Foeger, are now used in other ski schools with other teaching methods, proving that natural skiing is the best way to progress when learning to ski. Born in Kitzbuehel and graduated from the State Teachers' CoJlege in Innsbruck, TyrO'I, A'Jstria, \Valter Foeger was the technical director of the Austrian Ski Association, Captain of the German Alpine Ski Team, vice-president of the Tyrolean Ski Association. and Coach of the Spanish Olympic Team. His educational background, together with his many international successes in skiing, tennis, and ice hockey, have given him a clear and det, ailed understanding of body motions. • He discovered that the basic actions of the body are the same in all active sports. • His theoretical and practical experience forced him to create a better system of teaching, known as NATUR TEKNIK. Natur Teknik is now adopted and endorsed by ASTAN, and the details can be found in the book "SKIING FOR BEGINNERS" by Walter Foeger, and pub-lished by Ronald Press, New York City. . The official teaching manual of AST AN is based on this book, and is also on s:!le to the gener:!l skiing public, but it is mainly a teaching aid to AST AN ski instructors.
