Minnesota; and Jerry C. \Vesslin, Hayward, Wisconsin. Milwaukee Refains Joe Maurin Trophy Milwaukee Ski Club retained the Joe Maurin Memorial Trophy Sunday. February 21. by winning the Milwaul,ee County Four·:\Ian Team Cross·Country Ski Championship. The race was run in the Kettle :NIorain State Park near Plymouth. \Vis('onsin, due to poor snow conditions near Mil w auk l' e. However, high temperatures softened the snow and made going very difficult and boosted the times for the 4·mile race. The total time for the Milwaukee Ski Club team was 2 hours 41 minutes and 52 seconds. Second place Heiliger Huegel Ski Club team had a total of 3 hours 2 minutes and 59 seconds. The individual winner was Vojin Baic of the Milwaukee Ski Club with time of 38 minutes and 27 seconds. A professionaL ~ instructor subscribes to the principLes and purposes of the NationaL Ski Association and supports the work of his regionaL association. 2. A professionaL ski instructor reaLizes that his prime obligation in skiing is to the skiing pubLic and to the ski students who have paid him for his best teaching abilities. 3. A professionaL ski instructor seeks constantLy to maintain and improve his competence as a te.acher of the worLd's finest outdoor sport through the program of educationaL advancement and examinations offered by his regionaL assocntion. 4. A professionaL ski instructor directs his students into practices and procedures of skiing that wiLL be of utmost benefit to the student rather than those which might be mereLy expedient. 5. A professionaL ski instructor adopts demonstrabLe, positive improvements in the art of ski instruction and discards, after mature refLection and triaL, these which do not serve to upgrade skiing and ski instruction. 6.
