Show COLLEGIATE LIFE <br><br> SUMMER TIME. <br> When the snow is on the mountain <br> And the frost is on the pane, <br> When the nights are cold and frosty, <br> The boys are coasting in the lane. <br> People say it's grand and glorious─ <br> This old winter time; <br> It may glorify the living, <br> Bu the summer days for mine. <br><br> When the steam pipes are all steaming <br> And the fur coats heave in view, <br> You can talk of the hoary fence posts <br> And of the noses blue; <br> You bet it's grand and glorious, <br> Under the climbing vine, <br> Down by the babbling brook, <br> In the good old summer time. <br><br> When the ice is on your whiskers, <br> And your feet are cold and damp, <br> When you've chillblanes [sic] in your instep <br> And your fearful of a cramp; <br> Then you think of summer pleasures, <br> The leaves and the grasses green, <br> The murmuring pines and hemlocks, <br> The mowers and the sickles keen. <br><br> When the dew is on the meadow <br> And the robins in the trees, <br> When the meadow-larks are singing <br> A song to the southern breeze; <br> When the busy bee is humming <br> Among the clementine, <br> I'll be happy as the birds, <br> For this is summer time. <br> ─L.
