Dear Professor Atiya, Thank you very much for your kind letter of June 30.If I have not answered earlier, you have understood of course that this was only due to my being absent from Paris all this timeoFor the first time in many years,I have managed to take two complete months of holidays and I really needed them. On arriving back yesterday,I found your kind letter and I hasten to send you my greetings and best wishes., I hope you have also enjoyed excellent holidays., Concerning the complete set of La Revue du -Ca4re,and allowing for the circumstances which you indicate,I accept the price of one thousand dollars which you have obtained from the authorities of you University, the price of package and all other expenses for sending the collection being in addition to this sum. Although your letter is quite sufficient by itself,it would be just right to have a formal order from the University so that everything is quite- clear and straightforward. I expect you can have it sent in a matter of days so that this will not delay the sending of the collection,as I have to "xerox" the few missing copies and prepare the packages,etc... I do not think I will be able to travel to the States this coming university year, but probably next year I will have more time in hand.But-maybe you will be coming to France in the mean time?If so,do not forget to let me know., Please convey my best regards to Mrs Atiya and also to the members of the College family whom I had the pleasure to meet in Salt Lake City. Yours very |
