G. • Houses where consumptives live or are visiting must be examined and the occupants informed of the general sanitary rules touching this disease. Tho disinfection of rooms where such patients reside or have died should receive special attention. The spread of this sinister disease is largely due to three things: ignorance en the part of the general public as to the dangers of household infection, and therefore ignorance of the ways to prevent it; indifference to the risk from sanitary un-cleanliness of those in contact with such cases; and lack of ordinary facilities for oaring for the poyr and friendless, especially Indians. 7. No drastic ruleis about "cleanliness" should be enforced simply for the sake of requiring oonfornity to some technical standard, where they may prove oppressive without producing important results; good sense should be exercised at all stages of this work; but, on tho other hand, the health of the community must not be allowed to Buffer on account of merely sentimental considerations.
