I expect you have received my last letter meantime. ^ince I axrote we have got together as a Department and asked the Registrar to get Senate to agree to your corning next autumn to give a Department lecture, which sill be open to our students and to interested members of staff. The Registrar has sine© written to Cairo asking if we can have your services then. I look forwar I vary much to renewing our acquaintanceship. Could you stay with us here a few days, perhaps over a weekend or longer ? My colleafigue, Dr John Bowman of the Semi tics Department has expressed a k'.en interest in your work and would like, with the other members of his department to meet you. You will let us know details nearer the time-date etc. I enquired here about expenees etc. and the Registrar tells me that for Department lectures of this kind a fee of £10 is paid to cover expenses, I shall be interested to hear from you. Prof. Kahle writes to say that you are not very hopeful of getting much up of the palimpsest text without the use of infra-red or a reagent on the original. I hope you sill find it possible however to send a few photographs, in particular of Mark. ' I am sending you with separate post my article on the 5th c. Peshitta.
