Presenting Symptom: on thiamine deficient diet; shows a listless appearance; slight ptosis and semi-dilated pupils; complete paralysis of horizontal gaze; vertical nystagmus on attempt to look down or up; vertical movements limited, but present; moves head instead of eyes on attempt to look right or left. Disease/ Diagnosis: Wernicke Encephalopathy; Thiamine Deficiency.
