Description Sketch of a scene along the Arkansas River at the mouth of the Apishapa River, drawn by Richard H. Kern during the Gunnison expedition on August 1, 1853. Shlaer notes on page 74 that the identifiication was probably written later, since Kern thought they were at the mouth of the Huerfano River.
