Washington sent me a copy of the letter. ITow you men in council could vote on her and her daughter separately. You can vote to enroll her and vote against enrolling her daughter. When we send that on to Washington I believe that the woman would be enrolled and her daughter not enrolled. This woman at the time of the allotment was the head of a family. If she is enrolled, she will get 80 acres of land and each one of these Indians is entitled in the trust funds in Washington to about $2,000. Some of the Indians wanted to vote on Mrs. Kate Richardson's enrollment in the office one day, but only eight or nine of the headmen were there and I wanted all the Indians there. Mrs. Kate Riohardsoil does not know to what tribe she belongs, but she knows that she is an Indian and I oan tell she is an Indian, but I don't know to what tribe she belongs, whether it bo the Crow, the Ute, some southern tribe or what. I have taken testimony from a few of the Ind|ja,ns as to what they know about Mrs. Kate Richardson and she leaves it entirely to what Wanrodes and David Copperfield know about her- Wanrodes; Tknow and David Copperfield knows that Mrs. Kate Richardson is an Indian and that she is the daughter of David's brother." Mr. Martin; "How all of you who want Mrs. Kate Richardson enrolled on this reservation hold up your right hand," Twenty hands were counted. "If there are any who object to this, hold up your right hand." No hands up. There was no sentiment expressed in favor of the enrollment of the daughter of Mrs. Kate Richardson. We hereby certify that the above is a true and correot transcript of that portion of the council of the Uto Indians held at the Sun Danoe on June 23, 1913, which related to the enrollment of Mrs. Kate Richardson and her daughter. l&yy Served as Reporter.
