Jane Wilkie (Hooper) Blood, mother of Mary Hooper (Blood) Linford, was the daughter of John Hooper and Ann Wilkie. Ann Wilkie and her first husband, George Galbraith, were the parents of William Wilkie Galbraith, who settled at the Mormon colony of Colonia Diaz in Chihuahua, Mexico, in 1889. He had four wives. The writer of this letter was probably his first wife, Elizabeth Matthews Layton, as she had sons whose names are mentioned in this letter. |
