The Indian lv1i ssion seems prosperous. Brothers Hat ch and Duffin, Missionaries to the Lamanites, report an excellent feeling toward the people and especially is t his true of the Nava jos. Elder Duffin has no traveling companion and at his request, and with t he san ction of t he Bishop at Woodruff , the name of Gardner is submitted to be called and set apart as a Wissionary to t he Lamanites . tle is conversant with the 1~avajo tongue and Spanish , and a most excellent young man in every way worthy and reliable. The Legislature of Arizona se ems to have copied and passed t he Idaho Anti-Mormon bill and supplemented it wit h a school bill app li cable to Pima, G-rah am, and Apache Counties, maki ng it obligatory on t he parents t o send their ch ildren to s ch ool 16 week s in the year under a penalty of $50 .00 fine and g ave the power to employ Teachers into the hands of the county supervisor s. An effort was being made to get them to employ some of our Br ethren and Sisters ; with what success remained to be seen. We found the people genera lly feeling well and rejoicing in the Gospel in spite of the h eavy hand of persecution b eing laid upon them, looking f orward to certain triumph of Zion and the establishment of the Kingdom of G-od and rule of righteousness . Good health , good crops, and a good fe eli ng do much to <Lnsti gate the unpleasant circumstances by which we are sometimes surrounded .
