This was one of the hottest days of the season . The 24th being Sunday, e attended Sabbath School at the 14th ·, ard and meeting at the Tabernacle at 2· p .m. At 7:30p .m. he atte nded \lard ,'ee ting in the 14tl ,a rd and heard Elder John Nicholson . Tha t evening Brother John Lewis called and tried to f ix up t te Un ion music difficulty . Brothe r A • N. Hill called to see about his son, Zlder · ·~er1e 1. . !fill , who was on a Mission in the 3outl . On the 25th he received a letter from Elder B. H. Roberts udvising not that ""lder Newel A . Hill had left Cha ttanooga intoxica ted and hadf'.been heard f rom since. He then telegraphed lder oberts 8&eut £ e . On the <::;6th he remained home all day . The . ~eather was very hot . On the 27th he received a letter f rom his Uncle ~ illiam Morgan ,.,., ad¥-.i.s i~ tha t his son, Ga rrard, bud been sick in Ogden and was now missing . At 9: 37a .m. on June 28 he left for Ggden to endeavor to lear.n scmeth·ing of Cousin Garrard IV:organ . Met a number of men vho a tte nded him during hi~ s' ic knes s ~ but could get no tract of his present location . He returned home at 4 p .m. The weather .was t~ ·rribly hot . On June 29 in the morning, he called- a t · Marshall Burt ' s ,Offi ce to see if the had any informe tion about Cousin Garrard, but they knev nothing .
