Show -182- River where, after singing and prayer, President Morgan baptized fifteen persons. They then returned to the Bowery where they held a Confirmation meeting. after which they had supper at the Berthelsen home. The next morning, they drove down to the new site of Ephraim where they had dinner at the Allen home. From there they continued on the Alamosa where Apostle Snow preached that night. Afterwards they held a priesthood meeting and ordained Brother Elledge a Priest. Brother Snow then wrote a letter to Bishop Jensen and the Saints. At 6:20a.m. on the morning ofAugust 28, 1879, President Morgan bade Erastus Snow goodbye and at 9 a.m. started back to Manassa. It was a very windy and miserable day. They arrived back at Bishop Jensen's home about 4 p.m. quite tired and remained with the Bishop that night. He spent all the next day in ,visiting the Saints and in encouraging them to do their duties. He had dinner that day at Sam Sellers and slept that night at Captain Elledge 1 s home. Brothers Elledge and Sellers were selected to go to New Mexico and engage in a tie contract. The weather was _quite c;ool--but a good feeling existed ~mong the people and this I was gradually getting better.
