John Taylor Salt Lake City, Utah Dear Brot her: Since wri t ing you from Chattanooga , I have had the privelege of visiting the El ders laboring in t he state of Alabama , finding them in good health, and feeling well in their labor s , with fair indica-tions bef ore them for doing muc h good. After l eaving the ?a2ission , I vi si ted and met with the saints in Quarterly Conference , in San Luis Stake Colo / f i ndi ng them moving steadily along , a gener al good f eeli ng p revail~1and ~cellent crop prospects. During t he Conferences, a Quorum of Seventies , was organized, and l aced in working order. Pres~~ .Sila s S. Smith was unable to attend any of the meetings, owing to severe in j uries recei ved...P' through a team running away with him; from the effects of which he is slowly recovering . By recent conmunications from the offic e at Chattanooga, I l earn t hat affairs in the ~ ssion are moving along qui etly; fair success is resulting from the labors of the Elders , and while t hey are meet-ing with more or less -9PPO$i tion·, yet i t does not seem so bitt er and vindictiwe as heretofore.
