Arriving in Na shville on the 12th of April we found a quantity of mail accummulated from t he various Conferences in the South reporting favorably to a greater or less extent. Appointments were made to hold Conference meetings in Tennessee, Kentucky , Georgia , and Al barns.. The first of t hese series of meetings met a t Shady Gr ove, !ennessee, one week ago Sa turday , and Sunday a report of which was furnished t he "Deseret News" f or publica tion. The next meets on the 15th inst. ne ar Roche ster, Ken tu.cky. The evidences of progress in the ~ ennessee Conference were certainly most fla ttering and t he genera l feel ing arid spirit ~f the people seems to have undergone a mar ked change for t he better in the past twelve months. Elder John R. Murdock was honorably rele a sed to return home and left us on t he 2nd inst. , coming with him the good wishes a nd feelings of Elders and Saints. On the 16th of April a party of five Elders a rrived from Zion and after a brief stay were assigned to various fields of 1 bor throughout the Mission. On the 27th, a no·ther pa rty of five re ported for duty and on the following morning left for their fields of l abor .. |
