Show NOx PEMS ON A 221 MMBTU/HR NATURAL GAS-FIRED BOILER AT ARKANSAS EASTMAN CO. This PEMS was initially built from data collected on 120 process variables. The final model was reduced to a set of 22 of the most important process variables as inputs and one output, NOx in Ib/mmBTU. The NOx emission model was installed at Arkansas Eastman in May, 1993, was certified via passing a RATA test one month later [11], and is now operating continuously under an operating permit with the Arkansas DeJmtment of Pollution Control and Ecology. This was the first PEMS installed on Subpart Db boiler. Note the accuracy of this PEMS in Figure 3 below. Even in the fast dynamics regions the model tracks the measured NOx emissions. This system has been in operation for almost two years and has passed all RATA tests. It has achieved better than 99% uptime with 100% pollution compliance. 9 8 7 6 Ks 0.. x ~4 3 2 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 o Figure 3 . NOx Emissions from a 221 MMBTU Boiler at Arkansas Eastman, Batesville.
