SP Anyway, Iwas the head of the remodeling . Andi got an architect company. It was Budd. Wessley Budd . He only died just a few months ago. And his offices were at the top of the Bamberger Building , the one that they tore down. And rebuilt the .... whe ~ e the Salt Palace is, now, Rose. It was a Bamberger Bus Station . The Bus Station. Theyoccupied the whole floor . And I went there and - at seven oclock every single morning and I left late at night. And I used to cook at night , twelve oclock at night , and cook the food. But , we got - theni had to get a variance from the city for the building. RA Tobuild on. SP You see, we sold. Before I came here , the synagogue was absolutey . I 'rn makingi t sound like I paid the IIDney. :i:lon ' t mean it that way. Before Milt and I came here, the synagogue was absolutely broke. And they had quite a littlebit of footage in the back of the synagogue. And they sold it off. Eveyr bit of it . Be-cause they had to pay the mortgae. So when we came here, they only had the front and then the gas station used to keep our cars at the gas station. So, Ihad to get a variance . So I had to go to the city court. And tell them why we didn ' t have any parking place or else we couldn't remodel the synagoue. Because at ~ time, we had to have a certain amoutn of parking space |
