Show Larkin/ McNevin With a strong guitar style, a commanding and versatile voice, and a sharp, often stinging wit, she somehow manages to distill her experience into something very pleasing and unique. Her songs are an eclectic mix of human condition and its wide range of emotion. She also has an unique political sense, used to its utmost benefit in several of her songs. She is intimate, unencumbered and honest. Lives are richer after hearing a Larkin performance. Michael McNevin Winner of the 1992 Kerrville New-folk Competition in Texas, Michael McNevin is a rising talent on the acoustic music scene, and is one of the top new writers in the country. In 1991, he won the emerging songwriters competitions at both the Napa Valley Folk Festival and the Columbia River Folk Festival. This makes him the first writer to win all three Kerrville/Sing Out!-sponsored competitions. Raised in the historic Bay Area train town of Niles, California, McNevin is a storyteller. Performing throughout his 20s from California to New York, he now lives in Berkeley, where he continues to· write songs that pain a vivid picture of both his city and small town experiences. Michael's debut album, Secondhand Story, as with his live performances, showcase his unique voice and his ability to capture a moment.
