For the LNB/OFA systems installed on Unit 3, the process parameters to be evaluated included: • Secondary Air Register Settings (swirl and flow) • Percent OF A Flow/OFA distribution • Excess O2 Level • WindboxlFumace Differential Pressure • Coal spreader position • Air/fuel ratiO, primary air velocity The LNB/OFA tests were performed in two parts; the first testing characterized the performance of the LNB system alone, while both the LNB and OFA were characterized during the final testing. Following the retrofit of the LNB/OFA systems, furnace exit gas temperatures were measured at full load. Measurements were made for no OFA, as well as 1/3, 2/3 and 3/3 OFA operation. The average FEGT data are plotted in Figure 3 as a function of OFA. Additionally, FEGT measurements made prior to the LNB/OFA retrofit, when firing a domestic low sulfur coal, are also included. The data show that FEGT was essentially |
