Show EMANUAL MAY MAY 11, 1982 number three mine When they had electrical trouble on i t , Maxfield was the only one that would go down there He wouldn't show me the prints. He wouldn't say nothing They used to bring the panel boards out and they used to work on them and that They wouldn ' t show me the prints or nothi ng They used to keep hushy-hush , to be a big shot. He got it in for me because they got trouble with the hoist up there, and he couldn't fix it It wouldn't run , so the master mechanic, the shop mechanic whose name was Bill Lindsey, he says , "Emanuel, go over there and fix that hoist He has been over there too godang long We can ' t wait like that " So, I went over there and in five minutes I had it going I went over there and Bill and Maxfield says, "Did you get that hoist fixed " I said , "Yes, it's running all right now , Bill." And Maxfield says to him, "Well, what did you do?" Bill Lindsay told him , "It is none of your damn business You are supposed to know " [laughter] NT Oh, gee EM He wouldn't tell him NT Did you ever get to work on the long wall? EM Yes This Maxfield left there , so one day the long wall went down He says to me, "Emanuel, go down there and see what is the matter with that long wall " I said, "But I don ' t know nothing about it, Bill Never worked on it 35 |
