Show UTE GRID INCIDENTALS UTE PRESS AND PICTURE DAY SET FOR AUGUST 22 Utah's 1977 Press and Picture Day will be held Monday, August 22, at 2 p.m. in the Rice Stadium. All members of the media are invited to be on hand to meet the Ute players and Coach Wayne Howard and his Ute coaching staff. Both players and coaches will be available for pictures and interviews. FALL DRILLS BEGIN AUGUST 23 University of Utah 1977 fall football practice gets underway Tuesday, August 23 with two-a-day practice sessions. The players will workout in shorts until August 26 when the pads will go on. Two-a-day practices will be held from 8-10 in the morning with afternoon practice set to run from 2:15-4:00. An hour of kicking game drills will be held from 1-2 p.m. Two-a-day sessions will run for about two weeks. Single session practices (during the season) will be held from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Regular practices are held on the grass practice field located just north and east of the Special Events Center. Scrimmages and bad weather practices are held on the AstroTurf in Rice Stadium. KALL RADIO TO AGAIN AIR UTE GRID BATTLES All Utah football action both home and away will again be carried on KALL Radio, 910 on your dial. Bill Marcroft and Neil Hancey will again be mike side to bring you all the color and pageantry of what promises to be an exciting year of football action. Marcroft, a former Utah Sportscaster of the Year, is Sports Director of KUTV, Channel Two and is one of the area's top play-by-play men. Hancey is a former coach and athlete who provides keen insight into the happenings on the playing field. UTES TO AGAIN VIE FOR COVETED BEEHIVE BOOT. The Beehive Boot Trophy, symbol of football supremacy in the State of Utah, will be one of the goals for the '77 Ute football team. The trophy annually goes to the top football team in the state as determined by their record against interstate competition. Joining the Utes in the battle for the boot are BYU, Utah State, and Weber State. Brigham Young University won the boot in 1976. ABC'S 1977 "NCAA FOOTBALL" SCHEDULE The ABC Television Network again this fall will carry the NCAA's football series. To date the following schedule has been announced: Sept. 10-Notre Dame at Pittsburgh Sept. 12-UCLA at Houston Sept. 17-Alabama at Nebraska, Iowa State at Iowa, Brown at Yale, San Diego State at Arizona Sept. 24-Oklahoma at Ohio State, Maryland at Penn State, Massachusetts at Harvard, Brigham Young at Utah State. (Additional regional to be announced) Oct. 8-Alabama at USC Nov. 19-Ohio State at Michigan. (Second half of doubleheader to be announced) Nov. 25-Nebraska at Oklahoma, USC-UCLA (Additional regionals to be announced) Nov. 26-Army-Navy.
