Show THE CANONIZATION OF Saint Joan was presented beautifully to emphasize the immortal character dramatized by George Bernard Shaw. -SHAW March found the chronicle play of George Bernard Shaw, "Saint Joan," on the University stage . . . with Marsha Ballif Midgley starring as Joan, a huge University cast produced a fine presentation of the favorite tale of the French maid who was called to the service of her country and later burned at the stake for her faith . . . C. Lowell Lees directed the mass production play which was presented in six scenes . . . Harold Folland, Fred Nickson, Peter Cauchon, Harry Nelson and Boyd Sheets played prominent parts in the drama of wit and wisdom and brilliance typical of Shaw. 48 PRESTON LINFORD, as de Baudricourt, and Keith Engar, as de Poulengey, question the Maid of Orleans, brilliantly portrayed by Marsha Ballif Midgley. URSEL ALLRED played the role of the cruel Dauphin who was always quick to condemn Joan until she was martyred in the eity square. |
