Title Novel inverse methods for wire fault detection and diagnosis
Date 2011
Description Abstract? In recent years, methods used to locate and diagnose wiring faults have increased in complexity and variety. However, there is much research yet to take place in order to develop high resolution models for accurately analysis of the effects of small faults, gradual impedance discontinuities, and signal propagation over diverse frequency ranges. In solving these problems, advanced forward models for simulation of various wiring systems and their corresponding challenges have been developed and combined with inversion theory in order to correctly retrace impedance changes from reflectometry data. Particular attention is paid to the chafed shielded wire fault type, which has been of interest because of its prevalence and the challenges it presents.
