Show OPERATION RESULTS Table 3 shows the properties of the dewatered cake. The moisture content is 66 ~ 71% and the higher calorific value is 2700 ~ 3300 Kcal/kg.DS. Ash contains 3 ~ 4% SiOz and 13 ~ 20% CaO. Basicity (CaO/SiO z) is 3.0-4.0. The melting point is 1430-1450t and the melting flow point is 1450-1500t. Table 4 shows principal operation data of the system. The carbonizing and sludge slagging combustor are operated 6 days per week. They are operated as continuously as possible in order to reduce energy losses from cooling of the equipment. Kerosene is used as an auxiliary fuel, which is consumed at a rate of 0-45 L/h (about 0-26 Lit. cake) in the carbonizing furnace, 5 L/h (about 3 Lit. cake) in the secondary combustion chamber, and 90 L/h (about 53 Li t. cake) in the sludge slagging combustor, for a total of about 120 L/h (about 71 Lit. cake). The temperature is maintained at 700-900·C in the carbonizing furnace, 1500-1650t in the sludge slagging combustor, and 750~ 800L at the secondary combustion chamber ex it. Table 5 shows properties of the exhast gas of the system. The NOx concentration is 100-150 p. p. m. (Oz 12%). Slag is generated at a rate of 4-5 t/day, and none of the slag showed any leaching of toxic substances above detection limits.
