In this letter, D.B. Huntington wrote to Young to tell him about his encounter with some Indians who were visiting the Mormon settlers when he arrived home after a trip to Salt Lake City. Huntington and other settlers held a council where they dediced it was best to ask the Indians to leave. The rest of his letter discussed his desires to expand to Green River with the hopes of better land with more resources. At the end of the letter he mentioned that Indian travelers told him that areas South of the Mormon settlement did not have snow yet. |
