Show #13, p 5 animal on our doorstep to the starving, shivering, injured people in Vietnam, Bangladesh, Palestine, or anywhere there is a need. (And this goes for the crabby old lady in the local Old Folks' Home, whom we know we ought to visit but keep putting it off because she drives us up the wall!) obviously we can't support f inancially every need that is presented to us, but we can do as the Holy Spirit leads and, for the rest, pray fervant1y for all the sorrows of this suffering world. The Precious Blood of Jesus, our Saviour, has already redeemed the whole world - everything and every creature in it and on it - and now He lives in each one of us Christians; and the pow'er and the glory of the Kingdom ' are within us - He said so, and His word is true, He is Yea and Amen - which must be made manifest in the world and show forth the life and the love of Christ until His coming again, when He will make all things new. (And may God be merciful to me, a sinner, because I too try to carry this weight of glory in my own .strength, instead of in His). st. Franci13 of Assisi said, "God gives special grace to those who love their little sisters and brothers, the birds and beasts", and I can always use an extra helping of grace •• ~ can't you? Love and blessings to you all, in Jesus' wonderful Name ••• I: . |
