Frequent r ef erences i n the daily Press to the oil and uranium r evenues in Navajoland have lef t the i mpr ession with many of you that little or no help is now needed. The contrary is true. Never have the Nava jo been in such need of the help that only the Chur ch can give. Many are still in dire poverty, many have taken jobs which pai d well, only to have the ore give out their standar d of living had risen and t hey are in r eal need. But t he moral and spiritual needs which t hey have always felt to some degree hawe i ncr eased ; alcohol provides a ready escape f rom res ponsibility and the development of r eal char acter i s the only s olution .
