Show -7- one new courage in a materialistic age. Lee is doing fine. * * * Among the gifts that have come we must mention a deep-freeze, a 4-wheel drive ambulance, a diesel electric light plant, considerable building material, thousands of gallons of diesel fuel, a fine tractor, much school furniture, medicines and food, filing cabinets, dishes etc. The donors in their modesty wish not to be announced, but you will share our thankfulness and joy at having these things. OUR Staff has been increased with the arrival of Mr. and Mrs. James Rosa, of Washington, Connecticut. James has already shown his many skills, and his wife looks forward to taking over the school in the autumn, so as to release Helen for other important work. Summer workers include Patricia Vickery and Janet McGaw from Green Bay, Wisconsin, Jack Wade from Alhambra, Calif., Dick Palmer from Nashotah, Jack Wilbur from Amherst, Mass., and of cou'rse the perennial Creighton Clarke. All are getting the St. Christopher's callus on their hands, and seem to be enjoying the experience. * * * The "nosocome" has been in real use both before and after its dedication. Dr. Burnham, flown in by Utah State A.N.G., Dr. Eason of Public Health, Dr. Oaks· and others have given of their valuable time and skills, and we have tended many patients for whom no other help was available. * * * We have been made sad by news of the death of Harley Corleissen, good friend of the Navaho and of this Mission; we ask your prayers for his progress in the life of perfect service. Many of the gifts listed above came from him, or through his intercession on our behalf. |
