Show 3 many deaths - so skillful has our medical department been that this tragedy has ,?een many times averted - but there are times when we are embarrassed at not having a proper place for the repose of a body before burial. This is a project that may appeal to another group - while providing the materials might appeal to yet another. On May 4 Gerry Olson arrived from Oakland, California, having an ambition to become one of our Staff. He is taking hold nicely, and is able to continue his undergraduate studies. More about him as time goes on.- [F]ATHER Hannifin, of Logan, Utah, who includes in his many assignments the spiritual care of our Church children at the great Intermountain Indian school in Brigham City, paid us a visit soon after school closed. His presence here made it possible for Father Liebler to get away for two weeks to visit his family in Florida. As Fr. Hannifin has not yet completely mastered the Navajo language, his ministrations had to be in English for the most part, but the People were duly appreciative. Our radio programs had to be recorded in advance, of course, so we didn't leave our People without the Gospel being preached to them in a language "understanded of the People." I MIEANWHILE the outstation work goes on without serious interruption. Each Sunday afternoon we have a second service, with preaching, in some part of our vast territory, and once a month there are weekday services at Oljeto's little hoghan Church at St. Mary of the Moonlight. There is also a series of services at homes in the Aneth area to the east and in the Navajo Mountain area in the west. Our radio program each Sunday morning helps to alert the people in the area we are to reach in the following week, as well as making the Gospel message known to nearly all parts of the entire Reservation. fjlT Would be very nice if all our reporting l!J in the N ewsleUer could be cheerful and encouraging. But such is not the life of this world. Tragedy stalks constantly in the vale of the shadow of death. However, the grace of God manifests itself in many ways, . |
