George Fryer and Senator Tabor were foremost in making Leadville. The Senator is still rich, with large real estate and other interests in New York, Chicago, Denver and elsewhere ; is mining more in Colorado than ever before; has large interests in copper lands in northern Texas, and extensive mining interests in New Mexico and old Mexico. George Fryer, from whom the celebrated Fryer Hill takes its name, died a poor man. We did not descend into the depths.
