Sir:- Replying to your communication of the 25th ultimo, "Education, Administration, A V S», relative to the application for a contract for thirty-five Shoshone Indian pupil3 in the Box Elder District School, Box Elder County, Utah, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1910, I desire to report as follows: There are located In the vicinity of the town cf? Washakie, which is essentially an Indian town, some one hundred, and, fifty Shoshone Indians. While an actual census of--^ ..yy.3 the Indiansaha3-not been,taken to determine the number of . children attending school, it was estimated at the time of my C , ivisit to Washakie, there were at least the number of children (_^/ fas stated in the enclosed.application...••.-.
