Show communication will receive your prompt attention. The committee further respectfully states that the Issues of rations now made to certain ones of our tribe are insufficient to meet the needs of our people. We have had one or two conferences with Agent Tidwell on his calls but do not feel that we have benefited by these councils and that Agent Tidwell gives us but very little satisfaction after v/e have stated our points to him and we are not satisfied with his treatment of us. The committee feels, that a change in agents would result In better satisfaction to our people. Chief McCook and the committee say that in the time Ouray was- alive that the then agent (they do not remember the name only by "Billy") that it was in m e years of 76-77-78 and 79 he was. here and under Secretary Schurz'f . and they further state that it was through him that the original'treaty was made.
