Law and Order 1- fhe prohibition law has forced a certain element in this locality to dispense with into2icating liquors, but there is another class that have become law breakers by the illicit manufacture and sale of such liquor. ahe Indians buy and drink the ,Thone brew" from ''bootleggers'' and as t ley are constantly moving-and a search warrant is necessary it is practically Impossible to do any thing with them. In addition to legal restrictions a co as id arable part of tke people are in sympathy .-ith them io ihe :'bootle gger:' has a comparatively easy time plying, his trade, both in manufacture and sale. 2- The local force is trying to bluff It through 'And are doing all they can legitimately to suppress the traffic amang tke Indians. It has not reached proportions that is cause for alarm ncv; but if it co-atinues to grow it .'ill become a difficult problem in the course of time. 3- I am F a loss to suggest a remedy other than ^watchful wait in-a'' and the local employees to continue tc do tke best thay can to suppress the traffic. Marriage and Divorce. 4- fhe Indians have not been in as close contact with .ihite people as Indians on some other reservations, fhe isolated location has caused them to retain .-.one of their old customs among then the rules governing marrLage and llvorce. -he majority of marriages and divorces are acoording to Indian custom, i'he employees talk to ths Indians about It and advise such actions be aocoaaling to Stats lav*.
