The saloons that were formerl/ adjacent to so-ne of the Indian aettle.-nenta hava been closed and aoparently with very eatisfactory result3. Living aa these Indiana do, I take it that in moat respects they "Sfould be under tha jari3dioticn of the looal authorities in any kind of disturbing the peace or other miadaxeanor, but I could not learn that there sag a.ny considerable difficulty. I did note that Supt. Sneala had arranged for a district school ' to be opened in hia guard house,.which would indicate , that it .vaa not much needed as a penal institution.B ... : •,- .
