The Chief Engineer of this company and the Superintend.ent of the company have both, told me personal :y that they are able to construct all ditches necessary for these lands at a total cost of not to er-.ceed ylO.OO per ay re. Our engineers, I believe, estimate the cost somewhat higher, but whatever the coat, the .-ork should be started at-cone and completed, as soon as possible.
