Show It is noticed that in this years bill there are 3300,000 specifically appropriated for these Indians and in addition, their share of the accumulated interest. In round numbers, the amount of this interest is about ^468,000, and based as4 b .col upon the proportion of the entire population of the confederated bands of utes which we had last year, we ought to be entitled to about 57'$ of this interest. This would give us 3200,000 plus 57A of -3468,000, or a total of 7 approximately 0393,00 per capita for these Indians for the industrial development of their land. It is assumed that the above figures are substantially correct and it will thus be seen that it falls materially short of the per capita sum urgently requested in order that the lands of these.oIndians could be cleared and nlowed by contract and beneficial use made of the water thereof. Rive hundred dollars per capita is a conservative estimate of the '. amount needed for this purpose.
