Thoro aro about four or fiyo ohildron of taxed families attending publio sciaools of the State. (b) Thoir tuition io not paid by th© Federal Covornmont. (c) Tho parents would not be able to pay sohool tax from thoir inoomo producing lands. In many cases thero is no income -'from7such*lands. 8. (a) These Indians aro now oitizens of the State, but,as a rule, such citlsonship wan placed upon thorn before thoy woro ready thorofor, and if tho burden of taxation was placed upon them tho Government would havo to assume this taxation in somo way, else any property so taxed would doubtless bo forfeited through such taxation. (b) I am of the opinion no local projndieo now oxists by reason of those Indians being exempted from taxation. (c) Those Indians being allotted tho answer te fa) and (b) applies* 3. (a) Thoro is a speolal State statute against the sale of liquor to Indians. fb) So far as I know thero is slight effort to enforce this law except as it is anvokod through some Officer or employee of the Government.
