Gentlemen:- Thinking that I might have some rights in the Unitah Indian Reservation, I write you this joint letter and lay my case before jrou and aks what my rights, if any, are. My mother was a native of this State, born here, and v/as a member of the Ute Tribe. Buring a war between the Utes and the Snakes, she was captxired by the Snakes, and was taken to Bountiful, Utah, and there raised by the whites. My mothermarried Mornoi BlooS, of Midway, Utah, and Iwas born in. the year 1860. I was raised in the family of Andrew Watson, of Provo City, Utah, a very highly respected man, and under his care I was given as good an education as.the other children of the community. In 1885 I was married to John H. Allen, of this city, and by him I have had five children, and if I have any rights inthe Uintah Reservation, I want to secure them for myself and my children. My sister, born in about 1862, is still living, and is married to Mas P. Madsen, of Monroe, Sevirex County, Utah. You will confer a great favor by informing me of my rights in this matter at your very earliest convenience, and.oblige. Yours truly, YAf/, A 7/zr-iyy -io A nAZl |
