Show Uintah & Ouray Agency, Yfnite Rooks, Utah. April 12th.,1898. Hon. Commissioner of Indian Affairs, Washington, E. c. Gir: I have the honor to inform you that the White River Utes express a asesire to send a snail delegation to Washington this summer and of their willingness to pay for it out of their funds. I think the effect vrould be good if their request vras granted. Gome (ff the Uintahs seem to "be desirous to go but have not as a band expressed their desire, although there has been a talk among themselves on the subject. I think it rell to mention that the White Rivers have been led to answer think that a favorable may be given to their request by a letter fra Commissioner 3. r. Barge to one of their nunber. I believe llr. Barge mentioned the subject to either the Hon. Gecretary of the Interior or yourself. / |
