Sir:- I have the honor to report concerning cert-ain Renegade Inds7. said to be committing depredations in Col. That upon recie.pt of office Tel. Sat. 23rd, inst. I immediately ordered Mr, Smith elk. in Charge, to send Mr, Mc,Andres Chief herder,d Chief of police at Ouray, with the following H order; Mr. McAndrews, you are hereby directed to proceed to h the Colorado line, or where ever " renegade Inds?. mentioned, in office dispatch can be located, & return them forthwith to the reservation, go to the locality wherpsuck damage is reported, & ascertain its charactar and. extent, so as to be able to make complete report of the same to this office".
