Show 8 thereof except for our benefit, or tho disposal by sale by the United States of any portion of said land of any mineral or other i substance on or in said lands except for our benefit. Thereupon the following resolution was offered and after full explanation and discussion was unanimously adopted, to-wif. / "RESOLVED, that having full confidence in the intelligence and intogrity of they aro hereby authorised and directed to at once tako such steps as may be necessary and proper in the premises to protect our said interests and secure such legislation by Congress, or action by any of the departments of tho Government or in any court or place to that end. And, be it further Resolved, that the said are hereby vested with full and exclusivo power in our behalf in all said mattors and things and are specially authorized and directed to retain and employ such attorney, counsel and agents to assist and act for them in our bohalf as they may deem proper and the necessities of tho caso may, in their judgment, require and to contraot in our behalf to pay surjh attorneys a fee not exceeding |
