Show (093) George W. Armstrong RG 75 Comm. Ind. Affairs Microcopy 234 Dec 31, 1855 Reel 898 City of Provo Territory of Utah st December 31 1855 Sir, In consequence of the absence of the Governor and Ex. Off. Supt of Indian"Affairs at Fillmore City attending the session of the Territorial Legislature, my report and accompanying papers for the st Second quarter of the fiscal year ending December 31 1855 cannot be forwarded by the mail which leaves on the first of January 56, as I deem it important that the Department should be informed at as early a day as possible of the amount of expenditure for the public service during the last quarter I have thought it most proper to forward a copy of the Abstract showing the amount expended and for what as well as the cash balance remaining on hand at the expiration of the quarter, I presume that when the Governor returns from Fillmore City that the report will be forwarded by the mail which is expected to leave on the first of February next. I would here say that my report and all other documents are regularly deposited in the Superintendent's office a few days previous to the expiration of each quarter and I presume regularly forwarded to their destination. Hoping this may meet your approbation. |
